Mr. Dreyfus: You see, inductors are like segregationists. They always oppose any sort of change. And at first, they're very strong, and they succeed. But as time goes on, they get weaker, and they no longer have any effect.
Student: I thought you said inductors are like physics teachers!
Mr. Dreyfus: They are also like physics teachers...
*pause*
Mr. Dreyfus: Not that physics teachers are like segregationists!! -

Mr. Dreyfus: I probably shouldn't tell you this story, because it involves me being rebellious, but oh well. When I was taking physics, there was a problem involving a meterstick, and one of the students asked "how long is the meterstick?" To which the teacher responded "who is buried in Grant's tomb?"
And the student was puzzled. So I answered. But you know how I did it?
"Your mom."

// Physics: Mr. Dreyfus is doing a homework review. Some students in the back are discussing large finite sets. Mr. Dreyfus hears them.
Mr. Dreyfus: YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE IS VERY LARGE AND FINITE?!
*class turns their heads towards Mr. Dreyfus*
*long pause*
Mr. Dreyfus (softly): The... fact... that this class... is going to be quiet now. -

// Discussing torque in physics class.
Mr. Dreyfus: Who knows of a device that illustrates that the farther from the axis you apply the force, the higher the torque?
Student 1: A hammer!
Mr. Dreyfus: And how does that work?
Student 2: The longer you hammer, the more it hurts!
Student 3: That's what she said!
